Jacob, born in the wilderness to Lehi and Sariah, was Nephi’s righteous younger brother. Because of his unshakable testimony he was called to be a prophet and was given the sacred responsibility to keep the records after Nephi. He was valiant and sincere in teaching the people and labored diligently to bring them to Jesus Christ. In The Book of Mormon, Jacob taught us: “But before ye seek for riches, seek ye for the kingdom of God.” (Jacob 2:18)
